General information

What are LED masks and how do they work?

Our LED masks aren't magic—it's science, baby. LED light penetrates your skin at different levels (depending on the colour), giving your cells the kick they need to up their game. More collagen, less breakouts, smoother skin. It’s like a personal trainer for your skin, minus the sweat and bad gym music.

What skin concerns can the LED mask address?

If your skin’s got issues, this mask has answers. Wrinkles, breakouts, sun damage, pigmentation, redness—you name it, we’ve got a light for it. Consider this your one-stop light therapy shop.

What is the difference between the different colour settings?

Each colour brings its own unique vibe to your skincare game:

  • Red light (620-750 nm): Boosts collagen, smooths appearance of wrinkles, and helps turn back the clock.
  • Blue light (450-495 nm): Helps keep breakouts in check. Clear skin? You bet!
  • Green Light (495-570 nm): This one’s all about evening out skin tone and giving your complexion a chill pill.
  • Yellow light (570-590 nm): Yellow light’s your go-to for calming the skin, reducing redness and boosting circulation.
  • Purple light (380-450 nm): A fabulous mix of red and blue! It combines the benefits of both, targeting multiple skin concerns for a double whammy.
  • Cyan light (490-520 nm): Feeling stressed? Cyan light helps calm your skin, giving you that fresh, vibrant glow that radiates confidence.
  • White light (400-700 nm): This powerhouse works to brighten your skin and enhance your overall glow, making you look fresh and fabulous!

How soon will I see results from using the LED mask?

Typically, people report noticing results after around 4 weeks of consistent usage. It's like your skin’s version of working out: the more you commit, the better it looks.

What does the near infrared light on the Neck + Décolletage Mask do?

Near infrared light is your secret weapon! It penetrates deeper than standard LED, supercharging collagen production and healing by boosting circulation and delivering nutrients right where your skin needs them. When you pair it with our other LED light colours, you’re ramping up the results for a total skin transformation.

Safety

Is the LED mask safe for all skin types including sensitive skin?

Absolutely. No matter how fussy your skin is, our LED mask can handle it. From sensitive to oily to "I have no idea what my skin is doing", this mask is here for all of it. Just be sure to not use the mask on areas with broken skin or infections – if you’re not sure please consult your doctor before use.

What about using the LED mask in the shower?

Nope. Our LED mask and water are not besties. You can use it post-shower when your skin is clean and steamy, but in the shower? Not a good idea. Keep it dry!

Can I use the LED mask while pregnant or breastfeeding?

LED light therapy is usually as safe as it gets—no UV rays, no nasties—but let’s be real: you're growing a human! It’s all about keeping both you and your mini-me safe, and while the tech’s cool, there’s not tonnes of research out there specifically on using LED masks during pregnancy or breastfeeding so mumma, we highly recommend you speak to your doctor before diving into LED sessions.

Can I use the Face and Neck + Décolletage Masks simultaneously?

Why not? You can double-up and treat both areas at the same time. Multitasking at its finest, because who has time to waste?

Are the LED masks safe for the eyes?

As long as you’ve fitted the snazzy eye shields we’ve included in your box, fit the mask securely to your face and avoid looking directly at the lights, you’re all good!

Usage and Instructions

How long do I use the LED mask during each session?

Guess what, 10 minutes is all you need – yep, just 10 mins. Cool, huh? The masks will automatically turn off after 10 minutes.

How often should I use the LED mask for optimal results?

Consistency is key, just like that skincare routine you swear you’ll stick to. We recommend 3-5 times a week to get the most out of it. But hey, we won’t judge if you go for daily—your skin will thank you.

Does it matter what time of day I use the LED mask?

Not at all, this is skincare on your terms. Day or night, whatever suits you, the light will work its wonders anytime.

Can I wear the LED mask while doing other activities?

Totally. Read, binge-watch your latest series, vacuum the house or just scroll endlessly on your phone. The mask is comfy enough that you won’t even notice it’s there.

Do the LED masks have any cords?

Hell no! Cords are so last decade. Our masks are completely cordless, so you can strut around the house, or scroll Instagram without getting tangled up in wires or shoving remotes into your non-existent pocket. Freedom looks good on you.

Is the LED mask uncomfortable to wear?

Not on our watch! Our masks are designed to be light, flexible, and comfy. No stiff materials or irritating fits. You can move around, multitask, or just chill without feeling like you’re wearing a sci-fi helmet.

Can I use the LED mask on a full face of makeup?

Oh, honey, no. The LED needs direct access to your skin to work its magic. If your face is covered in foundation, you’re just blocking the light. Clean skin is the way to go. Besides, your glow is about to get so good you might not need makeup at all.

Do I have to use the Skinistry skincare products for the LED mask to work?

Short answer: nope. But if you want to turn your results from "wow" to "double wow," our skincare will speed up the glow game. Our formulas are designed to help the light penetrate deeper and give your skin an extra push towards perfection. Optional, but highly recommended if you’re serious about your glow-up.

Can I use the LED mask with my existing skincare routine?

Absolutely. We do not recommend using products that precaution against light exposure during or directly after use (hello, retinol users!). While it doesn’t impact some individuals, we strongly advise consulting your doctor, dermatologist or provider before use, as well as if you are using or planning to use any prescriptive, medicated or other skin treatments or undergo cosmetic procedures.

How do I clean my LED mask?

Easy peasy. Just wipe it down with a clean, damp cloth after each use, then stash it somewhere cool and dry. Keep it out of harm’s way—this baby deserves a little TLC.

Are the LED masks TGA approved?

You bet it is! Our mask is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), the Australian government agency responsible for regulating therapeutic goods, including medical devices and cosmetics. Because we’re all about glowing safely and effectively.
